Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information between visits. Similar technologies we may use include localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB, which are covered by this policy.
2. How Katapic uses cookies
We use the following categories of cookies and browser storage:
- Strictly necessary: required to keep you signed in, remember your active organization, store your cookie choices and enforce security. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service and do not require consent.
- Preferences: remember your language, theme and tutorial progress so you do not have to set them on every visit.
- Analytics: on our public website (katapic.com) only, and only with your consent - see section 3.
3. Analytics cookies (public website)
On our public website katapic.com we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Ltd., to understand how visitors use the site and improve it. These cookies are set only after you give consent through the cookie banner; until then they are blocked via Google Consent Mode v2 (analytics storage defaults to "denied"). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes individual visitors to measure site usage | 2 years | |
_ga_* | Persists session state for analytics | 2 years |
The Katapic application (app.katapic.com) does not use analytics or advertising cookies - only the strictly-necessary and preference cookies described above.
4. Consent
Strictly-necessary and preference (technical) cookies do not require consent, in line with the guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (10 June 2021). Analytics cookies on the public website are loaded only with your prior consent, collected through the cookie banner; you may grant, refuse or withdraw it at any time, with no effect on the technical cookies.
5. Third-party services
Some features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies on their domains:
- Google - analytics on the public website, as described above.
- Stripe - payment processing on the Pricing and Billing pages.
- Meta / Facebook / Instagram - only if you connect your social accounts through the Social Manager.
- Shopify / WooCommerce - only if you connect a storefront.
These third parties have their own cookie policies, which you should review directly on their websites.
6. International data transfers
Google may process analytics data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as a safeguard. When analytics consent is denied, Google Consent Mode keeps measurement cookieless.
7. Managing cookies
You can manage analytics consent at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of katapic.com. Most browsers also let you review and delete cookies through their settings. You can also:
- Use private / incognito browsing to avoid persistent storage.
- Sign out of Katapic to clear the session cookie.
- Contact us to request deletion of any data associated with your account (see our Privacy Policy for details).
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent the application from working correctly.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The current version and effective date are shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the application.
