Katapic vs Hypotenuse AI
Hypotenuse AI is a broad content platform: it plugs into Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, the big PIMs and the marketplaces, and it writes in more than forty languages. Katapic is deliberately narrower. It does one job on WooCommerce, which is to tell you which products Google and AI assistants cannot use, and then fix those without inventing anything. This table includes the three rows where Hypotenuse is ahead, because a comparison that hid them would not be worth reading.
Diagnosis before writing
Hypotenuse starts from generation. Katapic starts from a score per product, so you spend effort on the listings that are actually costing you visibility.
Two axes, kept apart
Ranking on Google and being usable by an assistant are different problems with different fixes. One combined number cannot tell you which one you have.
A price you can read
Hypotenuse quotes custom pricing on both tiers. Our price list is public, one time, and the credits never expire.
Feature by feature
| Criterio | Hypotenuse AI | Katapic |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnosis | ||
| Try it without creating an account | free trial, account needed | scan first, account later |
| Readiness score for every product | rank tracking | 15 signals per product |
| Scoring method published | not published | published: rubric and all 15 weights |
| Search and AI visibility scored separately | handled together | two independent axes |
| Fixing | ||
| Bulk rewriting | thousands at once | worst products first |
| Guarantee a listing never gets worse | not stated | checked at write time |
| Identifiers never generated by AI | not stated | barcodes validated, never invented |
| Blocks a listing that contradicts itself | not stated | stopped before it reaches the store |
| Store integration | ||
| WooCommerce, writes back to the store | yes | one click, free plugin |
| Shopify, writes back to the store | yes | not offered |
Hypotenuse is ahead here. We only cover WooCommerce. | ||
| PIM and marketplace connectors | Akeneo, Salsify, Amazon, Walmart | not offered |
Hypotenuse is clearly ahead here, and it is not a gap we are trying to close. If your catalogue already lives in a PIM and flows out to marketplaces, that is their job and they do it. Ours starts and ends inside your WooCommerce store. | ||
| Product feed validator, no account | CSV, XML and JSON | |
| Languages and markets | ||
| Languages it can write in | 40+ | 10 |
Hypotenuse is ahead on the raw count. Worth knowing what the number covers: theirs is how many languages it can write in, ours is how many it can also score in. The next row is the one that changes what you can act on. | ||
| Scores the listing in its own language | not stated | all 10, readability and attribution |
| Price and access | ||
| Price list published | custom, on request | public, on the pricing page |
| What you buy does not expire | not stated | credits stay until used |

The short version
These two tools are not really competing for the same buyer. Hypotenuse is built for teams running large catalogues across many channels, and it earns that scope. Katapic is built for a merchant with a WooCommerce store and a few hundred products, who does not know which of them are invisible and does not want to rewrite all of them to find out. If that description fits, the narrower tool is the one that will finish the job.
Where Hypotenuse AI is the better choice
Three rows above go their way, and they are not small ones. If you recognise yourself here, they are the honest answer.
- Your catalogue lives in a PIM, or you publish to Amazon, Walmart and Target as well as your own store. Their connector list is built for exactly that and ours is not.
- You sell on Shopify, or on several platforms at once. We cover WooCommerce only.
- You need product copy in more than ten languages. They write in over forty; we score and write in ten.
Is Katapic a Hypotenuse AI alternative?
For a WooCommerce store, yes. Both write product content in bulk. The difference is where they start: Hypotenuse starts from generation across many channels, Katapic starts from a diagnosis of your existing catalogue and only rewrites what scores badly.
What is Hypotenuse AI genuinely better at?
Breadth. It connects to Shopify, the major PIMs and the big marketplaces, and writes in more than forty languages. If your catalogue moves through several systems, that breadth is the product. We do not match it and we are not trying to.
Why does Katapic only support ten languages?
Because our ten are languages we also score in, not just write in: readability is measured on each language’s own published scale and source attribution is recognised in all ten, so a Dutch listing is read as Dutch rather than as broken English. Adding a language means adding that work, not adding a translation.
Can I see a price before talking to sales?
With Katapic yes: the price list is on the pricing page, the packs are one time purchases and the credits never expire. Hypotenuse lists custom pricing on both of its ecommerce tiers, so you would need to request a quote.
Can I try Katapic without signing up?
Yes. Scan your WooCommerce catalogue and see a search and AI visibility score for every product before creating an account. Connecting the store to apply fixes is one click through the free WooCommerce plugin.
